Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween everybody!!

How do you like my costume? Can you guess who I'm dressed as on my first Halloween? I'll give you a hint: He's about 6'2" and loves to fish! (That would be my Pops!)

I'm looking forward to answering the front door today and handing out candy and treats to all the other kids who live in my neighborhood! I guess those things called "candy" are pretty special at this time of the year. Mom says I can't have any just yet, but I know I must be missin' out on something pretty good because I hear there's going to be alot of older kids coming to the house to get some. I'm just happy I get to dress up as my Pops and answer the door with my fishies!

Halloween is supposed to be kinda scary. I think my first one will be a just little scary. It's my first day at daycare today. It's a good thing I really like people. Mom and dad seemed more scared than me! When my Pops was leaving for work this morning he grabbed his lunch, coffee and work bag and was walking out the front door with mom like he does every day. He didn't get very far. He came back to the kitchen and gave me a little pep talk. Ya know..I think it was the other way around. The tear in dad's eye told me so.

"You be good today, little man. Be nice to the ladies and make lots of friends." Pops said.
"I will Pops. I promise."
"And remember, I'll be there to pick you up in no time."
"I know , Pops. I know." I said.
"Remember if anyone gets out of line..."
"The jab. I know, Pops....I know. Use the jab."
"I love you." Pops said.
"I love you too Pops. Don't worry. There's lots of kids to play with. They'll only be strangers for a little while. Then we'll all be friends. I'm your son Pops....it shouldn't be too hard for people to warm up to me. Go to work and I'll see you later."
"Ok kid."

Poor Pops and Mom. They worry so much sometimes.

Last week they worried a little too. I spent two days over at Uncle Timmy & Aunt Britney's house. They have two kids. Lucy who is 6 and Nolan who is 2. Mom and Pops where worried if Nolan would like me. And guess what? We got along GREAT! Lucy and Nolan danced and sang songs for me. They played with me all the time! I even got a whole bunch of Nolans clothes and stuff that he said he didn't need anymore! Sometimes Nolan screamed a little too much, which kinda freaked me out the first couple of times. But after I got use to it, we were all good. Now I know that other kids scream just like me sometimes. Geez...and all this time I thought I had some special trick to call Mom that only worked for me.

Lately I've been going for long walks with Pops. We go to the woods and the river and walk for miles and miles.

I'm so happy when we're walking in the outdoors because I get to see all my friends: The squirrel family. The trees. Mr. Sun. Mr. wind. Last week even Mr. Rain showed up. I never met him before but ya know what? I like him! I laughed and laughed as small drops sometimes landed on my nose as I peeked out of my blanket.

Sometimes the walks are so nice that I take a little nap. The fresh air and 3 miles of trails just knocks me out sometimes.

I have a new favorite thing to do lately. I have recently found out that Pop's short hair feels really cool! Especially if I pull on it! I do it alot and we all laugh and laugh!

That's all for now! I'll keep everyone posted on how things go at daycare today and our Halloween activities as I hand out candy to all the other kids tonight!

Tru dat boo!

Has it really been more than a month since my last post?! Sheesh! Time flies when you're teething. So many changes I don't know how Mom can really keep track of anything. I know there are times when she's completely gone bonkers like the time she forget to give Grandmama my bottles...or the time she misbuttoned my jacket...or the time she almost forget to pick me up from Gail's house...or the time she fell alseep in the rocking chair while trying to get me to fall asleep. Now that she has a new job, Mom said things will get better.

I'm not really sure as to how Mom's new job relates to my gums not hurting anymore. Like anyone with no teeth, I have my good days and my bad days. There are times when it feels like my gums are about to explode and sucking my thumb provides no relief. If I'm miserable then everyone else is miserable. Unfortunately, that's the way it works when it comes to teething. Then there are times when I don't even feel pain shooting through my mouth. I try to relish those moments.

I savor pain free days as much as I savor my applesauce, pears, and bananas. I've been sampling what the big people have to offer. Pureed food is pretty tasty. I especially love my fruits, but I find sweet potato to be a big orange mess. Now that I've got big people food in my system, I've got big people poo. (Well, that's what Mom says.) It's like a gigantic stink bomb now. Mom must have some masochistic tendencies because she keeps on sniffing my butt checking if I laid a log. It's really unnecessary because you can smell it all the way to Figi. Trust me, Mom. It's S-T-I-N-K-Y.

Even though some of my chub has dissolved, the ladies still dig me.
